Twitter Cracking Down And Sprucing Up

I’m sure many of you have noticed that you now cannot add more than 500 friends per day per account. Some of you probably wouldn’t have even noticed this, but others of you that go balls to the wall with adding may be feeling the pinch. Yes, it seems twitter is starting to crack down on spam. Starting with tweetlater, now moving onto adding limits. It doesnt look like the API limits have been changed. So for the mean time, just take it easy with the adding and you shouldn’t find yourself getting banned any time soon.

In other news Twitter has spruced up its website with a few fancy buttons here and there. If you haven’t noticed, log into one of your accounts and view your follower/following pages. Alot of new features!  It isn’t all good news however. For the thousands of people that use Hummingbird for their automation needs, it seems they will be out of the game for a while. I’m not really sure how hummingbird works but i was really surprised that it would use the web interface at all. That would be certainly the last place i would look for a way of programming something. Especially when Twitter has an API all for the ready.

Hummingbird being down isnt all bad news however. Those people are rushing to find another way to add friends, and well, it just so happens that mine fits the bill :)
