Small SENuke Review

Yesterday and today i have been fiddling around with SE-Nuke. Most of you will probably already know what it is, but if not. Here is a quick run down. It basically combined web 2.0 property creation, video submissions, article submissions, social bookmarking and RSS submission into one application. Sounds good!

Well, yesterday i started at the low end of the scale. Im not afraid to admit this, but i searched for a crack (I didn’t know there was a 7 day trial at this point). I have read in numerous forums about this application not working so well, and it needing updates all the time. Well i finally got ahold of one, albeit it was version 4.something. I gave it a few runs and it was, to put it lightly, shit. Only about half of the account creation portion of the application worked. And for property creation (Called Social Network in SENuke), it hardly ever managed to post the article. Infact the only one it could consistently do was WetPaint, which is no-follow anyway.

After moaning to a friend about it, he said why don’t i try out the trial version on the website. I felt like a complete idiot as i should have done this from the get go instead of fiddling around with an old version.

Its kind of dodgy how you signup for the trial. You actually start the subscription immediately, just they don’t charge you for the first 7 days. So you have to remember to log into your paypal on the 6th day + 23 hours to cancel it if you want to. So anyway, i finally had it!

I mucked around for a bit, checking the changes of the two versions that i had (We are now onto version 5). To say the least i was pretty impressed with how they had moved things around to make it far more easier to navigate. But the true test would come when i actually ran the thing. So first up, account creation. It went OK. I still have some fails, but that’s ok. The one that peeved me the most is that i ran it like 50 times just on hubpages to try and see if it would finally go, and i just couldnt get it to work. Its a bit of a downer as Hubpages is one of those sites that “just work” for me when i use them. Anyway no problem, still got most of the others to work, plus it did the social bookmarking account creation pretty well.

Next it managed to verify all my emails in my inbox (Something i wasnt able to do previous version due to either my stupidity or it just not wanting to work). So i would say 85% account creation success rate. Which isnt toooo bad. I guess if you are paying $130 per month you want 100%. But either way i was happy.

Next it was on to the Web 2.0 property article posting. Things kind of went downhill. I think it would have been about a 80% success rate on this one. And it missed out some of my usual ones in the process. I really love webs.com. I dunno why, but it just always works, is damn easy, and they dont seem to have a problem with linkwheels. And SENuke couldn’t manage it :( . Anyways the ones it did do were good, and it also introduced me to some damn nice other sites that have RSS feeds (Which is good for indexing).

Next was the Social Bookmarking. I thought i would stick it through the ringer and absolutely push it too its limited by chucking 10 pages into it, and saying bookmark the lot. In all i think its around 150 bookmarks to do. I actually think this part went far smoother then i anticipated. I guess its essentially the same as OnlyWire, which is what i normally use, only allows you to bookmark everything in one go instead of one at a time. I think the only issue i had was with Digg. I think its mostly my fault, but i dont think your allowed to submit 10 submissions in a row.

Next i submitted the RSS Feeds i had from all the past work. This went just like clockwork. No issues.

Lastly i sent the pinger on its way. I actually think this is probably the module that i would use the most on SENuke. You can stick in a list of over 100+ URL’s and it will go down the list pinging the lot. I normally use pingler.com for pinging. But its one at a time so it can sometimes be fairly tedious work. With the ability to import all the URL’s into the SENuke pinger, it makes life a hell of alot easier.

So all in all. I think SENuke is a good piece of software. And for all the bad rep it has in some places, it does a good job of diminishing that and showing you the true power. Do i think its worth $130? Well thats debatable. The thing is, there is nothing else out there. So they can charge whatever they like and get away with it. Is it hard to make? No. I could make one i feel, within a week or two. The only problem is the scale (Which i think SENuke deals with quite well). Auto filling the fields on a windows form is only a case of going through the HTML bit by bit, picking out the elements and inputting values into them. It wouldnt be hard. I feel the hard part would be keeping track of where you are going, with all the accounts flying everywhere. You really need to know what your doing programming wise.

Also another thing to keep in mind, is that SENuke HAS to be updated constantly. I dont think there will be ever a time when Areeb (SENuke creator), can sit back and think he is done. The forms are always changing. And for this he then has to go back and recode SENuke everytime. I think this is the reason of the monthly fee. I still don’t think its worth $130 but you basically have no other choice :P . Ill do another post at the end of the trial and see where i am in these 7 days of using it.

Maybe in the future, if i stop being so lazy. Ill work on something similar. Like i say its easy to auto fill forms, its just keeping track of where you are going with all the logins.
