LinkWheel Experiment (Part 2)

Be sure to read Part 1 Here

Following straight on from the last post. Here is a few things about how ive made the “spokes” of the wheel. And results so far:

Basically all pages are finished. And the wheel is complete. I only used 5 properties for this particular test, mostly because in my mind im using some of the best properties. And also because with less properties, i can focus more on getting backlinks for them. (The less the merrier). The best property IMHO is tumblr. Now while it is pretty basic for the most part, and you cant actually add all too many things. The fact that it is able to integrate pulling twitter feeds, ordinary news feeds and pull youtube videos on the fly means that it is basically an autoblog platform stuck on a plate. I have checked my tumblr blog over the past couple of days to make sure the stuff its pulling isnt utter crap and looks good as a blog. I can definitely say that it honestly looks like a 100% legit blog. And for that i think google will love!

So far all but 1 of my properties are indexed. Suprisingly the one that isnt indexed is squidoo…Im not all too worried about it though. Yahoo has indexed them all, and if yahoo has, then its quite likely that google has been there just not updated yet. How did i get them all indexed? With OnlyWire ofcourse. Seriously, if you dont already have an account with these guys, Get one! It’s free aslong as you put a link to their site on your blog. And the amount of time it saves is amazing. Once you signup just create as many accounts with the sites they support as you can (the more the merrier).

Now onto the SERP results! Well it isnt exactly swell i must say. Actually let me rephrase that, i have had results, but they certainly arent amazing by any stretch. My page along with the keyword im targetting is sitting around the 5th page. Which is ok because i targetted this keyword because i was on the 11th page :P . So a move that big is actually something. When i check the backlink checker (In yahoo) for the page, it shows all the properties pointing in, so it definitely has picked up all the backlinks. The funny thing is that 3 of the properties in my wheel are actually ranking higher then the money page. Along with a tonne of my diggs/mixx’s also. This isnt too unusual, usually they rank really high to begin with then drop back, and the natural looking backlinks take effect.

So overall im thinking it is definitely going to work, once i see the page stop rising, ill create miniwheels around the properties that i already have to give it an extra boost. Ive already started on another wheel for a different site/keyword while i wait for this one. I definitely have faith in this method and stay tuned for the next post where ill tell you where in the SERP’s i ended up.

P.S. On my last post i had a comment from (i think) the original author of the Link Wheel ebook. You can download it HERE. I have downloaded it and it definitely cleared up a few things in my mind. As always dont follow it to a T, work out your own way of doing things, but its a good start.
