Facebook FanPage Craziness

If you’ve been on Facebook at all in the past week, you would have seen fan pages just explode out of nowhere spamming offers and CPA gateways. To say the least its been crazy, and i know off hand a bunch of people who have made good money following my quick 101 guide. Cant say i invented fan pages, or that i invented the methods that people are using, but i can say i taught people the basics and they then went on to make extreme amounts of money.
The Fan pages im talking about are ones like “Free Ipad Testing” or “Free $XXX Giftcard”. Don’t ask me why, but people on Facebook are so susceptible to this kind of garbage and eat it time and time again. Just among my real life circle of friends, I’ve seen people join multiple fan pages over the same offer. Like the Free Ipad one’s, i saw my friends joining 5 of them, and inviting me to all. I’m not really sure what that says about me being friends with these people, but the fact is that people outside of affiliate marketing don’t know about CPA.
It only looks stupid from my end, because i know exactly whats going on. I know what CPA is, and how it works. But for your average joe, it looks just too awesome that there is 10k fans of a page giving away an Ipad.
The BS could only last so long and Facebook have started deleting pages like crazy now. Infact i think anything with the word “Giftcard” in the title is automatically canned. So marketers will have to break from the crowd (If that’s possible), and start doing something unique. Its not that hard to get a Facebook fan page going, but it is hard to keep it not getting canned if your trying to give away CPA offers. Even if its a legit group and your just advertising CPA on it, (As in a mafia wars group, and then you advertise clickbank products on it), Facebook are starting to get weary of these aswell.
Also, you should probably rethink which CPA networks you are with. For the most part i don’t think there is that much wrong with doing these fan pages with Facebook. I mean, the leads ARE legit. And they are probably just as likely to work out in the backend as a lead from a contextual banner. But I do know networks that will use any excuse to get out of paying. And lets be honest, its a slight “trick” to be saying you are giving out free Ipad’s. Even if you’ve got an offer that is giving out Ipad’s, you’ve still got to be careful how you word everything.
Although i dont deal with Facebook anymore, i cant say which networks i used, as im still waiting on my payments
