CPALead Letting Blackhat Pass By

REVOLT!

This is pretty much what CPALead have on their hands right now. And it could really tear them a new one if they dont deal with it soon. Although its a fairly small issue that generally gets penned onto the bottom of the list, it could bring down CPALead slowly but surely. Im talking about publishers using fake content with CPALead. Meh, seems like a pretty small issue. But many publishers are getting fairly peeved about it, and it could seriously ruin CPALead.

Heres the problem. A user goes to visit a movie site (Example here), fills out an offer to view their movie. And then it turns out their is actually no movie, just a pic of a movie player. This isnt the problem, i mean CPALead probably wont mind as it is incentivised surveys you are working with here. And its not as though it is a bogus lead. But the problem begins with the CPALead network as a whole.

You see if that same user then goes to another site to watch a different movie (Or possibly the same movie), how likely is the user to fill out a survey now? Right after being duped out of the movie last time. Well it seems pretty unlikely in my mind. And this user is probably never going to do another CPALead survey ever again. Now im sure there is probably enough people to go around for now, but CPALead is on the fast track as being known as a “Scam Network”. Obviously they arent scamming anyone, but try and tell 10 year old kids that.

So why dont CPALead just ban these publishers that are giving them a bad name? Because for now atleast, I would think that blackhat publishers are making far more then their whitehat counter-parts. Trust me, saying that you have the latest “Lost” episode before it has even aired on tv will bring you 10x more revenue then competing with the 50 other sites once the episode is spread over the web.

CPALead dont want to miss out on revenue, which im sure in the short run they are going to be making alot more then if they banned everyone using this tactic. However in the long run, it may not be so favourable. I mean look at similar schemes such as Zango. Zango has one of the worst names on the web, all because of its aggressive past. And even now when its a 5 click uninstall, it can never get a clean name ever again.

    I agree 100%

I think CpaLead is missing the big picture on this one, as they allow the short term gain that will hurt their reputation in the long run. Once they get stuck with the reputation as the “network with all those fake content” sites then it’s game over.

If they want any real longevity in this biz then they need to address the fake sites issue before it’s too late/

    CPALead is here to stay.

All the advertisers already know what’s going on, and they still give CPALead bags of money to run their surveys.

If the company is looking to build a list, like most are in CPA, they cannot build one faster than they could with CPALead.

I give CPALead 11/10 stars for finding a niche nobody wanted.

You miss the point! I used the so-called survey and it turned out that it is not a survey at all!
The visitor of the Gateway page is shown sales letters and he is forced to enter a contract that cost him money or he will not be able to access the page.

They force you to spend money. This is NOT a survey!!

You only pay if you want! You are not obligated to anything!
The Internet is rich in content, if you didn’t like to do the survey, google it, and you’ll find a similar page :)

Bottom line is their will always be people who take advantage of the system and the networks I believe are well aware of this! Its impossible to stop!

And that’s why there’s a bookmarklet which bypasses CPAlead nonsense. Google for it. :)
