I Just Got The Boot From CPALead

Today I received the following email from CPALead (3 times infact, I have 3 different accounts with them, in the early days you needed more than one account to track which sites did what).

Hello Wade,

In order to ensure the quality of your traffic, we are closing your account due to inactivity. If you have a balance remaining on your account, you will be paid in full for it on your next scheduled pay date. Even if your payment is below our minimum threshold.

If you would like to continue using CPAlead’s services, please reapply here:

There is also a whole bunch of junk down the bottom about me not disclosing this email. Don’t quite know what the harm would be. And in anycase, I have my policy that if you send me emails, I can out them. So my policy vs yours :)

Back to the case at hand. As I said above, all 3 of my accounts got this message. Admittedly only 1 is really used at all, but still it makes me wonder if they are doing a blanket booting, kicking everyone out, and then making them re-apply. I’m sure they will keep the top earners, but it disheartens me when stuff like this happens.

I’ll admit, I don’t use CPALead at all right now. Probably haven’t used them in months. However when I first started this blog, I had CPALead banners up. Back then I was heavily into them. From those banners, I got a bunch of referrals under my name. And thus each month I make atleast payout simply from my referrals alone. It isn’t making me a fortune, I never intended it to be, but it is still money none the less.

Feels kinda wrong when someone takes $50 from your back pocket each month for no reason. And even worse when I do work to bring CPALead business (I don’t make money unless my referrals do), and then they change their mind at a later date.

You’re welcome to switch those referral links over to PeerFly. We won’t give you the boot :)

    • Wade says:

Heh, When you get a gateway I will :) .

Mind you, I made my own gateway a while back in a 30 minute hurried job : http://www.pyrogenicmedia.com/free-cpa-gateway-code/

The original “example” links were a bunch of my own sites, and one peerfly site (Some iPhone offer I think). But I was contacted by Cory to remove it, and told me that “PeerFly is a 100% non-incentive”.

We are non-incent. We will not be making the offers for our content gateway pubic. You will only be able to use them by putting the gateway on your site.

Of course, these are all preliminary plans. It’s still pretty far down on our todo :)

According to cpalead, if you haven’t made any money with them in awhile, you’re account is getting closed. I talked to my account manager and got mine re-opened, but according to him, there’s thousands of junk accounts who never even tried to use their accounts.

Talk to your AM, I’m sure they can give you your account back.

Emailed my affiliate manager (Madison), when I wrote this post. No reply, admittedly it is over the weekend so we shall see.

Wow that’s funny I got the same email this morning as well. The thing is my account actually is active so I don’t know what their problem is.

  4. Mark says:

Funny shit… .I got that same email just now and I have been sending 10-30 clicks/day from a site I am currently optimizing…

    Sigh….
